Miranda has been writing about money on the internet for 13 years, and in that time, she has become one of the most sought-after personal finance writers and experts in her industry. She runs her own business, which includes offering freelance writing and consulting services, as well as running a profitable website and founding an internationally recognized podcast.
In addition to working behind the computer, Miranda travels several times a year to speak at conferences and other events. She loves the fact that her work allows her the freedom and flexibility to set her own schedule, as well as the chance to meet interesting people and see new places.
A lifelong learner, Miranda is currently working on an MBA to complement her master’s degree in journalism. “Even though I’ve seen some success with my business, I think additional education can help me move to the next level,” she said. “An education almost never goes to waste.”
Miranda is also passionate about local politics and working toward making Idaho an even better place than it already is. She’s the Chair of the Bonneville County Democratic Central Committee and has been appointed to serve on city and school district committees in various capacities. Recently, Miranda was inducted into the local chapter of Rotary International and looks forward to the service opportunities available through that group.
A graduate of Skyline High School, Miranda attended school at Southern Utah University and Syracuse University before working on her MBA from Utah State University. She enjoys the many outdoor opportunities available in eastern Idaho and regularly takes her teenage son camping and hiking.
“Moving back to Idaho Falls has provided me with a great deal of perspective,” she said. “It’s been good to have the support of my family and this is a solid place to raise my son.”
