Tim Sopalski joined the Trust and Estate Industry in the spring of 2013. He has over 10 years of experience working with high net worth clients to help establish and accomplish their financial objectives.
In his tenure managing executive accounts for one of the fastest growing multilevel marketing companies in the world, he developed and maintained successful client relationships throughout the world, including Israel, Australia, and several countries within the European Union. In this role, Tim was introduced to the legal world of international business and consulted with clients to help establish business relationships that complied with company policy and local laws.
As Director of Client Relations, at Independent Trust Company of America, Tim organized and developed processes and policies to bridge the gap between operations and relationship managers that complied with regulatory requirements. He helped build and maintain relationships with financial advisors and some of the largest brokerage firms in the world. Tim later became Vice President and Trust Officer as he found his passion helping families develop effective plans to preserve their family legacies.
In the Spring of 2017 Tim started his journey with The Bank of Commerce Trust Services. As Assistant Vice President and Trust Department Manager, he leads his team with a relationship-focused culture. He guides the affairs of his department by planning for the future, providing ongoing guidance and supervision, and coordinating with executive management. He works with his team to administer and manage an array of Trusts and Estates with varying complexity. He is passionate about coordinating with families and advisors to help establish different estate planning techniques. He thoroughly enjoys analyzing accounts to develop resolutions to clients concerns and ensure that they comply with the client’s intent, bank policy, state law, and regulatory requirements.
Tim has earned his Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) certification, a professional certification from the American Bankers Association. The CTFA certification is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of wealth management and trust. The CTFA covers many areas including fiduciary and trust activities, financial planning, tax law and planning, investment management and ethics.
Tim currently serves as a board member of the Eastern Idaho Estate Planning Council, a board member for the Bonneville County Board of Guardians and is an Ambassador for The Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of Rotary International, volunteers as a soup kitchen team lead, a committee member for his local Young Professional Network organization and serves as the financial clerk for his church congregation. He has also been awarded and acknowledged for his ability to serve others, specifically earning his Eagle Scout Rank, the highest advancement rank in scouting. He has served on several boards for the Boy Scouts of America since and continues to train and mentor young men and young women through the scouting program and local organizations.
